On Thursday, July 23, there was a hit and run accident in Little Rock.
According to Little Rock Police Department the accident happened just before 12.45 p.m. at Ninth Street and Interstate 30. Willie Houston III, aged 45 was driving a red, 1960s two-door Oldsmobile with antique tags which hit Police Officer Steve Pledger on his police motorcycle and then fled east on Ninth Street.
Pledger, who has been in the force for 31 years with 23 years in the motorcycle unit, was taken to a Little Rock Hospital with what are thought to be non life threatening injuries and he was conscious and alert when he was transferred.
Given that the car was so unique, it did not take long to find and arrest Houston and once arrested he was charged with felony hit and run, driving without a license and running a red light.
