Little Rock Man Killed in Crash Between Train and Pickup

On Thursday, October 13, a Little Rock man was killed in a crash between a train and a pickup in Jefferson County.

According to the sheriff’s office, the accident happened at around 9 a.m. Thursday morning on a stretch of tracks between Wabbeska and Humphrey when 46 year old Albert J. Gornatti Jr., of Little Rock, was driving a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup and collided with the train at a crossing of U.S. 63 just outside Wabbeska, some 19 miles north east of Pine Bluff.

Gornatti was hit by the train and killed and there were no other injuries.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate and at this time, they believe that alcohol could have been a factor. The crossing does have a stop sign and railroad crossing indicators but does not have crossing gates for motorists.
