Judge Pleads Not Guilty of Negligent Homicide in Death of Son

A judge in Little Rock has pleaded not guilty to a charge of negligent homicide concerning the death of his baby son.

On Friday, March 11, Judge Wade Naramore who worked on the Garland County Circuit pleaded not guilty in court and will now go to trial on June 14 for what is anticipated to be a four day trial.

The charge is in relation to the death of his 17 month old son on July 24 last year when the judge forgot to drop him at his day care center and left him in the car on a hot day in Hot Springs. The child was in the car for several hours and he died.

Naramore’s attorneys have said it was a tragic accident and not a crime, but if convicted he could face a year in jail and a fine of $2,500. He has already been suspended by the Supreme Court with pay until all of the proceedings; both criminal and disciplinary have been terminated.
