On Thursday, October 8 a man from Little Rock was killed in a crash on Interstate 40.
According to State Police, the accident happened shortly before 2.30 on the I 40 near mile marker 120 south of Menifee. Malcolm Xavier Webb, aged 23, from Little Rock was a passenger in a 2015 Dodge Caravan and the vehicle was slowing down due to heavy traffic eastbound. It was struck from behind by a 1996 Peterbilt and this impact caused the Dodge to collide with a 2013 GMC Terrain which in turn hit another unknown vehicle.
Webb was taken to Conway Medical Centre but was pronounced dead at 3.53 p.m. the same day. The driver of the Dodge, 24 year old Brianna McCulloughof St Louis was injured as well as three other passengers in the vehicle; Joshua Banner-Summerville, aged 22 of Little Rock and 22 year old Aleisha Brown and 26 year old Jacob Deaver, both from Sherwood. The driver of the GMC, 51 year old Jacqueline Chandler of Kansas City and her passenger, 21 year old Tony Dewayne Glover Jr., of Little Rock were also injured.
The investigation is still ongoing but it is thought that the weather could be a contributory factor as it was cloudy and the road was wet at the time of the crash.
